Inquirybased learning builds confidence from "summary" of Inquiry-Based Learning by Teresa Coffman
Confidence is a key attribute that all students need to possess in order to succeed academically and in life. Inquiry-based learning is a teaching approach that emphasizes student-driven exploration and investigation, allowing students to take ownership of their learning process. Through this approach, students are encouraged to ask questions, seek answers, and think critically about the world around them. As students engage in inquiry-based learning activities, they are given the opportunity to explore new ideas and concepts in a safe and supportive environment. This process allows them to build confidence in their own abilities and develop a sense of empowerment as they discover new knowledge and skills on their own. By actively participating in the learning process and taking control of their own education, students are able to build confidence in their own abilities to think critically, solve problems, and make decisions. This sense of confidence can then carry over into other areas of their lives, leading to increased self-esteem and a greater sense of accomplishment. As students engage in inquiry-based learning activities, they are given the opportunity to make mistakes, learn from them, and grow as individuals. This process of trial and error allows students to overcome challenges and obstacles, leading to a greater sense of self-efficacy and resilience.- Inquiry-based learning provides students with the opportunity to build confidence in themselves as learners and as individuals. By encouraging students to take risks, ask questions, and explore new ideas, this teaching approach helps students develop the skills and mindset they need to succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.
