Recognizing internalized racism involves acknowledging the ways in which we have absorbed racist ideas and beliefs about ourselves and others. It requires us to examine our own thoughts and actions to identify any biases that we may hold, even if we are not consciously aware of them. Internalized racism can manifest in the form of self-hatred, low self-esteem, or a belief in the inherent superiority of one race over others.
