In the wake of losing five young black men in my life over a span of four years, I found myself grappling with a deep sense of grief and loss. Each loss felt like a blow to the heart, a reminder of the fragility of life. I struggled to come to terms with the senselessness of their deaths, the unfairness of it all. As I reflected on their lives and the circumstances that led to their untimely deaths, I realized that I needed to do more than just mourn their passing. I needed to honor their lives, to ensure that they would not be forgotten. I needed to bear witness to the pain and suffering that they had endured, to acknowledge the injustices that had cut their lives short.
