Embrace change from "summary" of How to Be an Adult in Relationships by David Richo

Change is inevitable. It is a constant in our lives, whether we like it or not. We can resist it, fight against it, or we can choose to embrace it. Embracing change means accepting that things will not always stay the same. It means being open to new possibilities and opportunities that come our way. Change can be scary, but it can also be exciting. It can bring growth, learning, and transformation. When we embrace change, we let go of our attachment to how things should be and instead focus on how things are. We become more flexible and adaptable, able to navigate the ups and downs of life with greater ease. Embracing change requires courage and a willingness to step outside of our comfort zone. It means being willing to take risks and try new things, even if they scare us. Change can be a catalyst for personal growth and self-discovery. It can challenge us to confront our fears and insecurities, and to push past our limitations. When we embrace change, we open ourselves up to new experiences and possibilities that can enrich our lives in ways we never imagined. Change can be a gift, if we choose to see it that way. In relationships, embracing change is essential. People change, circumstances change, and we must be able to adapt and grow alongside our partners. When we resist change in relationships, we create tension and conflict. But when we embrace change, we create space for understanding, empathy, and connection. We become more attuned to our partner's needs and more willing to compromise and find common ground. Embracing change requires a mindset shift. It means letting go of the need for control and certainty, and instead embracing uncertainty and the unknown. It means being willing to surrender to the ebb and flow of life, trusting that everything will work out in the end. Embracing change is a continuous practice, a daily choice to let go of resistance and embrace the beauty of impermanence.
