The root of most marital conflicts is a failure to meet each other's needs. When a person’s most important emotional needs are not being met by their spouse, they will become unhappy and dissatisfied. This unhappiness can lead to arguments, resentment, and ultimately, conflict. Each individual has a set of basic emotional needs that must be fulfilled in order to feel loved, valued, and secure in a relationship.
