Rob struggles with commitment issues from "summary" of High fidelity by Nick Hornby,Anneke Bok

Rob just can't seem to commit. It's like he's allergic to the very idea of settling down. He bounces from one relationship to another, always looking for the next best thing. It's not that he doesn't care about the women he's with – he does, in his own way. But when things start to get serious, he starts to feel trapped, suffocated even. The thought of being tied down to one person for the rest of his life fills him with a sense of dread. And it's not just romantic relationships that Rob struggles with. He can't commit to a job, either. He flits from one career to another, never really finding his niche. He's always looking for something better, something more exciting. But deep down, he knows that the problem isn't with the jobs or the women – it's with him. He's afraid of making a choice, of closing off his options and missing out on something better. Rob's fear of commitment isn't just about relationships or careers – it's about life in general. He's scared of making a decision, of choosing a path and sticking to it. He's always second-guessing himself, wondering if he made the right choice. And so, he ends up stuck in a cycle of indecision and dissatisfaction, never truly happy with where he is or what he's doing. But deep down, Rob knows that he can't keep running forever. He knows that he needs to face his fear of commitment head-on if he ever wants to find true happiness. And so, he must confront his demons, confront his fear of commitment, and learn to trust himself and his choices. Only then can he truly find the fulfillment and contentment he's been searching for.
