Myeloproliferative disorders are chronic hematologic conditions characterized by abnormal proliferation of blood cells in the bone marrow. These disorders include polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and primary myelofibrosis. Patients with myeloproliferative disorders require long-term monitoring due to the potential for disease progression and development of serious complications. Regular monitoring is essential to assess disease progression, response to treatment, and the development of complications such as thrombosis or transformation to acute leukemia.
