Resisting oppression means refusing to be controlled or limited by the powers that be. It means standing up for yourself and others who are being marginalized or mistreated. Oppression comes in many forms - discrimination based on race, gender, sexuality, ability, or any other aspect of identity. It can be subtle or overt, but the effects are always harmful. To resist oppression, you have to first recognize it for what it is. This means being aware of the ways in which society tries to keep certain groups down, and not accepting those systems as just the way things are.
