Harry returns to the Dursleys for the summer from "summary" of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - Slytherin Edition by J. K. Rowling

As the school year came to an end, Harry knew that he would soon have to leave the familiar halls of Hogwarts and return to the Dursleys' home for the summer. The thought of spending his holidays with his unpleasant relatives filled him with dread, but he had no choice in the matter. Professor Dumbledore had made it clear that Harry must return to Privet Drive until the start of the new term. Leaving the magical world behind, Harry boarded the Hogwarts Express with a heavy heart. As the train chugged its way back to King's Cross Station, he couldn't help but feel a sense of longing for the warmth and camaraderie of his friends at school. The journey seemed longer and more arduous than ever before, knowing what awaited him at the end of the line. Upon his arrival at the Dursleys' house, Harry was greeted with the same coldness and indifference that he had come to expect. Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon made it clear that they had no interest in his magical exploits or his adventures at Hogwarts. They treated him as nothing more than a burden, a nuisance to be tolerated until he could be shipped off once again. Locked in his room, Harry felt isolated and alone. The contrast between the magical world he had just left behind and the dreary existence he now faced could not have been starker. He longed for the company of Ron and Hermione, for the excitement of Quidditch matches and the thrill of learning new spells. But all he had now was the monotony of life with the Dursleys. Despite his circumstances, Harry tried to stay positive. He knew that he had a purpose, a destiny that awaited him back at Hogwarts. As he counted down the days until he could return to the wizarding world, he held on to the hope that better days were ahead. And so, Harry bided his time, waiting for the moment when he could leave the Dursleys behind and step once more into the magical realm that was his true home.
