Harold discovers his true self with Maude's guidance from "summary" of Harold and Maude by Colin Higgins

Harold, a young man from a wealthy family, is seemingly lost and disconnected from the world around him. He stages elaborate fake suicides to shock his mother, who remains indifferent to his cry for attention. In the midst of this existential crisis, he meets Maude, an eccentric and free-spirited 79-year-old woman who sees the beauty in life and lives it to the fullest. Maude's unorthodox approach to life intrigues Harold, and he is drawn to her zest for living. Through their interactions, Maude teaches Harold to embrace the present moment, to find joy in the little things, and to let go of societal expectations. She opens his eyes to the wonders of the world and helps him see beyond his privileged upbringing. As Harold spends more time with Maude, he begins to shed his façade of indifference and starts to explore his own desires and passions. He discovers a love for music, art, and nature, things that were previously unknown to him. With Maude's guidance, Harold starts to break free from the constraints of his past and step into his true self. Through their adventures together, Harold learns to appreciate the beauty of impermanence and the importance of living authentically. Maude's infectious spirit and wisdom help Harold find his own path and embrace his individuality. In the end, Harold emerges as a transformed man, ready to live life on his own terms, thanks to the profound impact of Maude's guidance.
