Pip is introduced to the eccentric Miss Havisham from "summary" of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens - Delphi Classics (Illustrated) by Charles Dickens

One day, Pip is summoned to the grand but decaying Satis House, where he is to play with Estella, the adopted daughter of the mysterious Miss Havisham. As he enters the house, he is immediately struck by the eerie atmosphere — the rooms are dimly lit, covered in dust, and frozen in time. Miss Havisham herself is a strange figure, dressed in a faded wedding gown and wearing one shoe, as if she had been abandoned at the altar.
