Great Expectations, written by Charles Dickens and published as an illustrated edition by Delphi Classics, is widely regarded as Dickens' greatest novel. The story follows the life of Pip, an orphan who is raised in a small English village but is suddenly presented with an opportunity to make his fortune in London. Through a series of adventures, he encounters a cast of colorful characters including his friend Herbert Pocket, the mysterious and menacing Magwitch, and the cold and aloof Miss Havisham. Along the way, Pip learns valuable lessons about the importance of friendship, the true meaning of wealth, and the power of self-reflection. In the end, he discovers that the greatest of all expectations may simply be learning to accept himself.
