Letting go of comparison and selfdoubt from "summary" of Finding Freedom by Erin French

Comparison and self-doubt are two insidious demons that can wreak havoc on our minds and spirits. It's all too easy to fall into the trap of constantly measuring ourselves against others, whether it's in terms of success, appearance, or any other aspect of our lives. But the truth is, comparison is the thief of joy. When we are constantly looking at what others have or have achieved, we are unable to fully appreciate and celebrate our own unique qualities and accomplishments. Similarly, self-doubt can be a paralyzing force that holds us back from reaching our full potential. When we doubt ourselves, we are essentially telling ourselves that we are not worthy or capable of success. This negative self-talk can become a self-fulfilling prophecy, as we start to believe our own doubts and limitations. In order to break free from the shackles of comparison and self-doubt, we must first recognize when these toxic thoughts are creeping into our minds. We need to be vigilant and mindful of the ways in which we are comparing ourselves to others and undermining our own worth. Once we have identified these destructive patterns, we can begin the process of letting go. This may involve practicing self-compassion and self-love, reminding ourselves of our own intrinsic value and worthiness. It may also involve setting boundaries with social media or other sources of comparison, and surrounding ourselves with supportive and uplifting people who celebrate our uniqueness. Letting go of comparison and self-doubt is not easy, and it may require consistent effort and practice. But the rewards are immeasurable. When we release ourselves from the burden of constantly measuring ourselves against others, we open ourselves up to a world of possibilities and self-acceptance. We are able to embrace our own strengths and quirks, and move forward with confidence and authenticity. By letting go of comparison and self-doubt, we can truly find freedom within ourselves.
