Racial and social injustice cut against the very core of democracy. In a truly democratic society, every individual should have an equal voice and opportunity to contribute to the collective well-being. However, when racial and social injustices persist, it creates barriers that prevent certain groups from fully realizing their potential and exercising their rights as citizens. Democracy requires a commitment to justice and equality for all members of society. When racial and social injustices are allowed to persist, it breeds resentment, division, and mistrust among different groups. This erodes the social fabric and weakens the bonds that hold a democratic society together. Injustice not only harms those directly affected by it but also undermines the trust and solidarity that are necessary for a functioning democracy.
