Embracing vulnerability leads to living a more authentic and fulfilling life from "summary" of Daring Greatly by Brene Brown

Vulnerability is not a weakness that we should avoid or hide from the world, but rather a strength that allows us to live authentically and wholeheartedly. It is the willingness to show up and be seen, even when there are no guarantees of the outcome. When we embrace vulnerability, we open ourselves up to deeper connections with others, as well as a greater sense of fulfillment and purpose in our lives. Living authentically requires us to be honest and open about who we are, what we believe, and how we feel. This means being willing to take risks and be vulnerable, even when it feels uncomfortable or scary. When we hide behind a facade of perfection or invulnerability, we prevent ourselves from truly connecting with others and experiencing the full range of human emotions. In order to live authentically, we must be willing to embrace our imperfections and allow ourselves to be seen as we truly are. This requires courage and a willingness to let go of the need for approval or validation from others. When we can accept ourselves fully, flaws and all, we are able to live with a greater sense of peace and self-compassion. By embracing vulnerability, we also open ourselves up to the possibility of failure and disappointment. However, it is through these experiences that we learn and grow the most. When we are willing to take risks and put ourselves out there, we are able to live with a greater sense of purpose and meaning. As Brene Brown says, "Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity, and change."
