The desire for revenge can be all-consuming. It can consume our thoughts, our emotions, and our actions. When we feel wronged or hurt by someone, it is natural to want to seek revenge. We want them to feel the same pain that they have caused us. We want justice. But holding onto this need for revenge can be damaging to our own well-being. When we hold onto the need for revenge, we are giving the person who wronged us power over our lives. We are allowing them to continue to hurt us long after the initial hurt has occurred.
