Ontological argument fails to prove the existence of God from "summary" of Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant asserts that the ontological argument, which seeks to establish the existence of God based on the concept of perfection, is inherently flawed. This argument relies on the assumption that existence is a predicate that can be added to the concept of a being in order to make it more perfect. However, Kant points out that existence is not a characteristic or property that can be attributed to a being in the same way as other qualities such as power, wisdom, or goodness. According to Kant, existence is not a property that can be included in the definition of a being. Instead, existence is a necessary condition for any meaningful statement about an object.
