Critique of Pure Reason is a classic philosophical work by Immanuel Kant, originally published in 1781. In it Kant argues that human knowledge arises from experience but is structured by the mind. He also explores the source and limits of knowledge, in particular the role that reason plays in understanding it. Kant argues that that reason has certain conditions on what it can reveal, and so it is limited in its capacity to uncover truth. He attempts to provide an answer to what he calls the "question of all questions" - "What can I know?" In doing so, Kant develops a comprehensive framework of knowledge rooted in human experience. He also applies his theories to practical questions such as morality and freedom, in the hopes of strengthening our understanding of human life.
