The system thrives on exploitation and deception from "summary" of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, 3rd Edition by John Perkins
The global economic system is built on a foundation of exploitation and deception. From my experience as an economic hit man, I have seen firsthand how this system operates to benefit a select few at the expense of the masses. Exploitation is at the core of how the system functions. It relies on extracting resources from developing countries, often at a great cost to the environment and the people who live there. These resources are then used to fuel the insatiable appetite of corporations and wealthy individuals in the developed world. Deception is another key component of the system. Through manipulation, coercion, and outright lies, those in power are able to maintain their control and continue their exploitation unchecked. They use tactics such as false promises of economic development, misleading financial agreements, and threats of violence to keep countries in line and ensure that the wealth continues to flow in their direction. The system thrives on keeping the truth hidden from the public. By controlling the narrative through mainstream media and other channels of information, those in power are able to shape perceptions and maintain their grip on power. This allows them to continue their exploitation and deception without fear of being held accountable for their actions.- The system is designed to perpetuate a cycle of inequality and injustice that benefits a small elite at the expense of the rest of the world. It is a system that preys on the vulnerabilities of developing countries and exploits them for its own gain. Only by exposing the truth and challenging the status quo can we hope to bring about real change and create a more just and equitable world.
