Letting go of ego allows us to see the bigger picture from "summary" of Buddhism for Beginners by Thubten Chodron

When we are consumed by our ego, our vision becomes narrow and limited. We are so focused on ourselves and our own desires that we fail to see the world beyond our own perspective. Our ego creates a barrier that prevents us from seeing the interconnectedness of all beings and the bigger picture of life. By letting go of our ego, we are able to step outside of ourselves and see things from a wider viewpoint. We become more aware of the interdependent nature of reality and realize that our actions have ripple effects that extend far beyond ourselves. This shift in perspective allows us to see the beauty and complexity of the world around us and appreciate the interconnected web of life. When we release our ego, we are also able to let go of our attachment to our own desires and expectations. We become more open to new experiences and more accepting of the uncertainties of life. As we relinquish our need to control everything, we can embrace the flow of life and trust in the natural order of things. Letting go of ego frees us from the burden of self-centered thinking and allows us to be more compassionate and empathetic towards others. We are able to see beyond our own needs and connect with the suffering and joys of those around us. This sense of interconnectedness fosters a sense of unity and belonging that transcends individual boundaries.
  1. By releasing our ego, we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world we live in. We are able to see the bigger picture of life and appreciate the beauty and interconnectedness of all beings. It is through this process of letting go that we can truly find peace, happiness, and fulfillment in our lives.
