Trust in the process from "summary" of Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott

You have to trust in the process. You have to trust that if you sit down and write, the words will come. It may not always be easy, but you have to believe that the act of writing will lead you somewhere. It's like driving through thick fog - you can't see the road ahead, but you have to keep moving forward, trusting that you will eventually reach your destination. Writing is a journey, and you have to trust that the path will reveal itself as you go along. You may not know exactly where you're headed when you first start writing, but that's okay. Embrace the uncertainty, and allow yourself to explore different ideas and possibilities. Trust that the more you write, the clearer your direction will become. There will be times when you doubt yourself, when you feel stuck or uninspired. But you have to push through those moments and keep writing. Trust that even on your worst days, something valuable will come out of your efforts. Writing is a process of discovery, and you have to be willing to embrace the unknown. Don't get caught up in trying to make everything perfect right from the start. Trust that the editing and revision process will help you refine your work. Allow yourself to make mistakes, knowing that they can be fixed later. Perfectionism can be paralyzing - you have to let go of the need to control every word and sentence. Trust in the process also means trusting yourself as a writer. Believe in your voice, your ideas, and your ability to express yourself. Don't compare yourself to others or worry about what anyone else thinks. Stay true to your vision and trust that your unique perspective is worth sharing with the world.
  1. Writing is a leap of faith. You have to trust that the act of putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) will lead you somewhere meaningful. Embrace the journey, the ups and downs, the uncertainties. Trust in the process, and you will find your way as a writer.
