Morning pages can be a form of meditation from "summary" of The Artist's Way Morning Pages Journal by Julia Cameron

When we sit down to write our morning pages, we are entering a meditative state without even realizing it. The act of putting pen to paper and allowing our thoughts to flow freely is a form of mindfulness in itself. We are not judging or censoring what we write, but simply letting our thoughts spill out onto the page. In doing so, we are clearing our minds of clutter and allowing ourselves to be fully present in the moment.
