Let go of attachment from "summary" of Bhagvat Gita, Song of God by Dr. Roopnarine Singh MD FRCPC

Attachment is a concept that binds us to the material world, causing suffering and preventing spiritual growth. When we are attached to possessions, relationships, or outcomes, we become slaves to our desires and fears. This attachment clouds our judgment and distorts our perception of reality. Instead of seeing things as they are, we see them through the lens of our desires and attachments. This leads to confusion, frustration, and disappointment. To let go of attachment is to free ourselves from this cycle of suffering. It is not about renouncing the world or giving up on life, but about letting go of our attachment to the outcomes of our actions. When we act with detachment, we are free from the burden of expectations and desires. We are able to focus on the present moment and do what needs to be done, without being swayed by the lure of success or the fear of failure. Detachment does not mean indifference or apathy. It is about acting with awareness and compassion, without being driven by selfish desires or ego. It is about accepting the impermanence of life and being open to whatever comes our way. When we let go of attachment, we are able to see things as they are, without judgment or prejudice. We are able to make decisions based on what is right, rather than what we want. Letting go of attachment is not easy. It requires practice and perseverance. It is a gradual process that involves self-awareness, self-discipline, and self-reflection. It is about letting go of our ego and surrendering to the divine will. When we are able to do this, we are able to find true peace and happiness, regardless of the circumstances.
