Release the burden of selfcriticism from "summary" of Being Zen by Ezra Bayda

When we take a close look at our lives, we often find that much of our inner dialogue is filled with self-criticism. We constantly judge ourselves for not being good enough, smart enough, or successful enough. This habit of self-criticism creates a heavy burden that we carry with us wherever we go. It weighs us down, saps our energy, and dims our enthusiasm for life. However, when we begin to see this pattern of self-criticism clearly, we have the opportunity to release its hold on us. We can start by simply noticing when self-criticism arises, without getting caught up in the content of what we are criticizing ourselves for. Instead of believing every judgment that arises in our minds, we can take a step back and observe it with curiosity and compassion.
