Embrace the practice of simply being from "summary" of Being Zen by Ezra Bayda
When we talk about embracing the practice of simply being, we are talking about a fundamental shift in how we approach our lives. It is about letting go of our constant striving and efforting to be somewhere other than where we are right now. It is about recognizing that the present moment is all we ever have, and that true peace and fulfillment can only be found in accepting this moment just as it is. This practice of simply being is not about doing nothing or being passive. It is about fully engaging with whatever is happening in the present moment, without trying to change it or make it different. It is about being curious and open to whatever arises, whether it is pleasant or unpleasant, without getting caught up in our habitual patterns of reactivity. In embracing the practice of simply being, we learn to let go of our attachment to the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and what we need to be happy. We begin to see that these stories are just that – stories – and that they do not define us or limit us in any way. We come to understand that our true nature is vast and unbounded, and that it is always available to us when we let go of our striving and simply be. This practice is not always easy. Our minds are conditioned to constantly seek out distractions and to resist the present moment. But with patience and persistence, we can learn to quiet the mind and open ourselves to the richness and fullness of life as it is. We can learn to trust in the inherent wisdom and goodness of the present moment, and to find peace and contentment in simply being. So, as we embark on this journey of embracing the practice of simply being, let us remember that it is a journey of discovery and awakening. It is a journey of coming home to ourselves and to the present moment, and of realizing that everything we need is already here, within us. Let us approach this practice with an open heart and a willingness to let go of our old ways of seeing and being. And let us trust that in simply being, we can find the true happiness and fulfillment that we seek.Similar Posts
