Cultivate patience and resilience from "summary" of Being Zen by Ezra Bayda

Patience and resilience are essential qualities to cultivate on the path of Zen practice. Patience allows us to sit with discomfort, to bear witness to our own suffering without reacting impulsively. It gives us the space to observe our thoughts and emotions with a sense of curiosity and compassion, rather than trying to push them away or escape from them. Resilience, on the other hand, enables us to bounce back from setbacks and challenges with grace and determination. It is the capacity to endure difficulties without losing our sense of inner strength and stability. In cultivating patience, we learn to embrace the present moment as it is, rather than constantly striving for something better or trying to avoid pain and discomfort.
