Be fully present in each experience from "summary" of Being Zen by Ezra Bayda
Being fully present in each experience means bringing our full attention and awareness to whatever we are doing in the present moment. It means letting go of distractions and preoccupations, and immersing ourselves completely in what is happening right now. When we are fully present, we are not thinking about the past or worrying about the future. We are simply being with whatever is unfolding in the here and now. Being fully present requires us to pay attention to the details of our experience – the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and sensations that are happening in this moment. It means noticing the thoughts and feelings that arise within us without getting caught up in them or judging them. It means being open and receptive to whatever is happening, without trying to control or manipulate it. Being fully present is not always easy. Our minds are constantly pulling us away from the present moment, urging us to dwell on the past or fret about the future. We are often lost in thought, caught up in our worries, fears, and regrets.
