Let go of attachments to find freedom from "summary" of Be As You Are by Sri Ramana Maharshi

Attachment to objects, people, and ideas binds us to the world of thoughts and desires. These attachments create a sense of ownership and identification with things that are impermanent and ever-changing. By holding on to these attachments, we lose our sense of inner peace and freedom. It is only when we let go of these attachments that we can truly find liberation from the cycle of suffering. Freedom is not found in acquiring more possessions or relationships; it is found in releasing the hold that these attachments have on us. When we are no longer attached to the outcomes of our actions or the opinions of others, we are free to simply be ourselves. This freedom allows us to experience life as it is, without the filter of our ego and desires. The key to letting go of attachments is to cultivate a sense of detachment and equanimity towards the world around us. This does not mean that we become indifferent or uncaring; rather, it means that we no longer allow external circumstances to dictate our inner state of being.
