Religion's downfall is inevitable from "summary" of Ateist Manifesto by Michel Onfray
The collapse of religion is certain because the world is evolving. Technology and education are increasing, opening minds and questioning old beliefs. People are seeking rational explanations, not ancient myths. Science is advancing, revealing the natural laws behind phenomena once attributed to gods. As knowledge grows, superstitions diminish, and faith weakens. Religion's downfall is inevitable because it no longer holds the power it once did. In the past, religious institutions controlled society, dictating morality and laws. But as secular values gain prominence, the grip of religion loosens. People are no longer willing to accept dogma without questioning. They seek autonomy and freedom, rejecting the oppressive nature of religious authority. The decline of religion is also evident in changing demographics. In the West, church attendance is decreasing, and more people identify as non-religious. Younger generations are less likely to adhere to traditional beliefs, preferring a more individualistic approach to spirituality. As society becomes more diverse, with various faiths and beliefs coexisting, the dominance of any one religion diminishes. Moreover, the atrocities committed in the name of religion have disillusioned many. The history of violence, persecution, and intolerance associated with religious ideologies has tarnished their reputation. People are turning away from organized religion, seeing it as a source of division rather than unity. The hypocrisy of religious leaders further erodes faith, as scandals and corruption expose their moral failings.- The downfall of religion is inevitable due to societal progress, changing values, shifting demographics, and the failures of religious institutions. As humanity moves forward, religion will continue to lose its influence and relevance. It is time to embrace reason, science, and humanism, leaving behind the myths and superstitions of the past.
