Matthew takes Anne home by mistake from train station from "summary" of Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery,Higher Read
As Matthew Cuthbert drove his horse and buggy to the train station to pick up the orphan boy who was supposed to be coming to Green Gables, he was filled with nervous anticipation. He had never adopted a child before, and the thought of having a young boy to help him and his sister, Marilla, with the farm work was both exciting and daunting. When Matthew arrived at the train station, he saw a young girl with red braids standing alone on the platform. Assuming that this must be the orphan boy he was there to collect, he approached her and introduced himself. The girl, who introduced herself as Anne Shirley, seemed delighted to meet him and eagerly accepted his offer to take her home to Green Gables. As they rode back to the farm, Matthew couldn't help but notice how talkative and imaginative Anne was. She chattered on about her past experiences in orphanages and her dreams of finding a loving family. Matthew found himself captivated by her spirit and charm, despite his initial confusion about her identity. When they arrived at Green Gables, Marilla was shocked to see Anne instead of the boy they were expecting. She scolded Matthew for his mistake, but Anne's infectious personality quickly won her over. Despite the mix-up, Anne was welcomed into the Cuthberts' home with open arms, and Matthew knew in his heart that bringing her home was no mistake at all.Similar Posts
