Animals suffer under Napoleon's rule from "summary" of Animal Farm by George Orwell

Under Napoleon's rule, the animals on the farm found themselves toiling harder than ever before. The pigs, led by Napoleon, began to live a life of luxury while the other animals worked endlessly to maintain the farm. Squealer, Napoleon's right-hand pig, convinced the other animals that their sacrifices were necessary for the greater good of the farm. The truth was twisted and manipulated to keep the animals in line, feeding them false promises of a better future under Napoleon's leadership. As time passed, the animals began to see the harsh reality of their situation. They were overworked, underfed, and living in fear of Napoleon's wrath. Any dissent or questioning of the regime was met with swift punishment, often in the form of violent retribution. The animals' spirits were broken as they watched their comrades disappear, never to be seen again....
