Animals establish own government from "summary" of Animal Farm by George Orwell

The animals knew that something must be done, for they could no longer tolerate the oppressive rule of the humans. They were fed up with being overworked and underfed, with no say in their own lives. And so, they came together to form their own government, a government of the animals, by the animals, and for the animals. At first, it seemed like a dream come true. The animals were finally in control of their own destinies. They could make decisions for themselves, without the interference of the humans. They established a set of commandments to guide their new society, promising equality and fairness for all. But as time went on, cracks began to appear in their once-united front. Some animals started to believe that they were more equal than others, that they deserved special privileges and treatment. The pigs, in particular, began to assert their dominance over the other animals, using their intelligence to manipulate and control the rest. Slowly but surely, the principles of equality and fairness that had once united the animals began to crumble. The pigs became more and more like the humans they had overthrown, exploiting the other animals for their own gain. The once-idealistic government of the animals had become corrupted, a shadow of its former self. And so, the animals found themselves right back where they started, under the thumb of oppressive rulers who cared only for their own power and privilege. The dream of a truly just and equal society had been shattered, replaced by a cruel and unjust regime. The animals had learned the hard way that even in their own government, power could corrupt and absolute power could corrupt absolutely.
