These principles aimed to overthrow the oppressive rule of humans and establish a system where every animal would be treated with dignity and respect. At the beginning, the principles of Animalism were embraced by all the animals on the farm, who saw them as a path to a better life. As time passed, however, the principles of Animalism began to evolve. The pigs, who were the most intelligent animals on the farm, started to interpret the principles in a way that served their own interests. They began to take on more power and control, claiming that they were the ones who needed to make decisions for the good of all the animals.
