Einstein's first job after graduating from Zurich Polytechnic was as a patent examiner in the Swiss Patent Office in Bern. This may seem like an unremarkable position for a man who would become one of the greatest minds in history, but it was during his time at the patent office that Einstein made some of his most significant contributions to science. As a patent examiner, Einstein was tasked with reviewing applications for new inventions to determine whether they were original and innovative enough to warrant a patent.
