One can imagine that God created the universe and all its laws to be just right for the development of life. The laws of science are consistent with this possibility. However, this does not prove the existence of God. The idea that there is a multiverse – a set of multiple universes – could also explain why our universe is the way it is. If there are many universes, each with its own laws, then some of them are bound to be suitable for life. In a universe that is infinite in space and time, anything that can happen will happen somewhere at some time.
