Bryson and Katz struggle with heavy backpacks from "summary" of A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson

Bryson and Katz hefted their backpacks onto their shoulders and began their journey on the Appalachian Trail. The weight of their packs pressed down on them, causing them to stagger slightly as they set off into the wilderness. Bryson could feel the strain in his muscles as he struggled to maintain his balance under the heavy load. Katz fared no better, his face contorted in a grimace of discomfort as he trudged along the trail. As they hiked further into the mountains, the weight of their backpacks seemed to grow heavier with each step. Bryson could feel the straps digging into his shoulders, the bulk of the pack pulling him backwards. Katz grunted with each step, his breath coming in short, sharp gasps as he labored under the burden of his pack. The two men moved slowly, their progress hindered by the unwieldy weight on their backs. Despite their physical discomfort, Bryson and Katz pushed on, determined to conquer the trail ahead of them.
