Bryson and Katz rely on each other for support from "summary" of A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson

Throughout our journey on the Appalachian Trail, my companion Katz and I have formed a unique bond that goes beyond mere friendship. We have come to rely on each other for support in ways that neither of us could have anticipated when we first set out on this adventure. It is a relationship built on mutual trust and understanding, forged through shared experiences and challenges. Katz has proven to be a valuable ally in the face of the many obstacles that have come our way. When I struggled with the physical demands of the trail, he was there to offer encouragement and motivation. And when he faced his own doubts and fears, I was there to lend a listening ear and a comforting presence. Together, we have been able to overcome the challenges that the trail has thrown at us, drawing strength from each other in times of need. Our reliance on each other goes beyond just the physical aspects of the journey. Katz has a way of lightening the mood with his humor and wit, helping to lift my spirits when I am feeling down. And I, in turn, provide a sense of stability and reassurance when he is feeling overwhelmed or uncertain. We complement each other in ways that make our partnership truly symbiotic, each bringing something unique to the table that the other lacks. As we continue to trek through the wilderness, I am grateful for the support and camaraderie that Katz provides. Our relationship is one of equals, each giving and receiving in equal measure. It is a bond that has grown stronger with each passing day, as we navigate the challenges of the trail together. And I know that as long as we have each other, we can overcome whatever obstacles lie ahead.
