Gender should not determine a person's worth from "summary" of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman by Mary Wollstonecraft

In a just society, the value of an individual should not be contingent upon their gender. Both men and women possess the capacity for reason and virtue, and thus should be judged on their merits as individuals rather than their sex. The notion that one gender is inherently superior to the other is a baseless prejudice that perpetuates inequality and injustice. Women, like men, are capable of intellectual and moral development. To deny women the opportunity to pursue education and personal growth based on their gender is to deny their humanity. By restricting women's access to knowledge and self-improvement, society not only limits their potential but also deprives itself of the contributions that women could make to the betterment of all. The belief that women are inherently inferior to men is a social construct that has been perpetuated through generations. This unfounded prejudice is used to justify the subjugation and exploitation of women, relegating them to positions of dependence and servitude. Such discrimination not only harms women but also undermines the moral fabric of society as a whole. By recognizing the inherent worth and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their gender, society can move closer to true justice and equality. Women should not be judged by the standards imposed upon them by a patriarchal society, but rather by their own abilities, character, and potential. Only when we abandon the outdated notion that gender determines worth can we truly progress towards a more just and equitable society.
