As I sat in the darkness of my cell, my mind often wandered back to the days before captivity. I clung to memories of sunlit afternoons spent with loved ones, the laughter and warmth of gatherings with friends, the simple joys of everyday life that now felt like a distant dream. These memories became my lifeline, a flickering light in the midst of the darkness and despair that surrounded me. I would close my eyes and transport myself back to those moments, reliving them in vivid detail as if they were happening all over again. The taste of my favorite meal, the sound of a familiar voice, the touch of a gentle hand – these sensations brought me comfort and solace in a world that seemed devoid of both. In those moments, I was able to escape the harsh reality of my captivity and find refuge in the warmth of my memories.
