To begin your meditation practice, find a quiet place where you can sit comfortably without any distractions. Make sure your environment is conducive to relaxation and peace. Choose a chair or cushion that allows you to sit with a straight back and relaxed shoulders. Your feet should be flat on the floor, and your hands can rest gently on your lap. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and release any tension in your body. Close your eyes if that feels comfortable to you, or keep them open with a soft gaze. Focus on your breath as it flows in and out of your body. Notice the rise and fall of your chest and the sensation of air passing through your nostrils. As you continue to breathe deeply, bring your attention to the present moment. Let go of any thoughts or worries about the past or future. Simply be with your breath and the sensations in your body.
