When we repeatedly engage in a certain behavior, whether it's a healthy habit like exercise or a detrimental one like smoking, our brains create neural pathways that make it easier for us to perform that behavior in the future. This is because our brains are constantly seeking efficiency, looking for ways to conserve energy and resources. So, the more we engage in a behavior, the stronger the neural pathways associated with that behavior become.
