Cultivate inner peace and harmony from "summary" of You Are Here by Thich Nhat Hanh
To cultivate inner peace and harmony means to look deeply into ourselves and connect with our true nature. It is about recognizing that peace and harmony are already within us, waiting to be awakened and nourished. By cultivating mindfulness and awareness, we can water the seeds of peace and harmony that are present in every moment. When we are able to touch the present moment deeply, we can see that peace is possible right now, in the midst of our daily activities and interactions. We don't have to wait for the perfect conditions or circumstances to experience peace and harmony. It is always available to us, if we know how to look for it within ourselves. Cultivating inner peace and harmony also involves letting go of our attachments and aversions, which are sources of suffering and discord. When we are able to release our clinging to desires and our resistance to unpleasant experiences, we can find a sense of ease and well-being that is not dependent on external conditions. Practicing mindfulness helps us to stay grounded in the present moment and to be fully present with whatever is arising. This presence allows us to see things more clearly and to respond with wisdom and compassion, rather than reacting out of habit or reactivity. By cultivating inner peace and harmony, we are able to bring more love and understanding to our relationships with others. When we are at peace within ourselves, we are better able to offer kindness and support to those around us, creating a ripple effect of peace and harmony in our families, communities, and the world.- Cultivating inner peace and harmony is a lifelong practice that requires patience, diligence, and self-compassion. It is a journey of discovery and transformation, leading us back to our true home within ourselves. Through the practice of mindfulness and deep looking, we can nourish the seeds of peace and harmony within us, allowing them to blossom and flourish in every aspect of our lives.
