Prioritize selfcare from "summary" of Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes

Self-care is not a luxury, it is a necessity. It is not something we can afford to put off until tomorrow or next week or next year. It is something we must make time for every single day, no matter how busy we may be. We must prioritize our own well-being above all else. This means saying no when we need to say no, setting boundaries when we need to set boundaries, and taking time for ourselves when we need to take time for ourselves. It means making ourselves a priority, even when it feels selfish or indulgent. Self-care is not just about pampering ourselves with bubble baths and massages (although those things are nice too). It is about taking care of our physical, mental, and emotional health. It is about making sure we are eating well, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and managing our stress. It is about seeking help when we need it and not being afraid to ask for support. It is about recognizing when we are overwhelmed and taking steps to address it before it becomes a bigger problem. Self-care is not always easy, especially for those of us who are used to putting others first. But it is essential if we want to be able to show up fully for the people we care about. We cannot pour from an empty cup. We must fill ourselves up first so that we have something to give to others. We must take care of ourselves so that we can be the best version of ourselves for those we love. So, let us make a commitment to ourselves to prioritize self-care. Let us make it a non-negotiable part of our daily routine. Let us give ourselves permission to rest, to recharge, and to take care of ourselves in whatever way we need. Let us remember that self-care is not selfish, it is self-preservation. And let us remember that we are worth it.
