It’s like there’s a handbook somewhere that dictates how women are supposed to act and look and think, and if you deviate even a little bit, you’re met with side-eye and judgment. It’s exhausting, trying to live up to these impossible standards that society has set for us. We’re expected to be perfect mothers, wives, daughters, and friends all at once, while also looking flawless and maintaining a successful career. It’s like we’re not allowed to have flaws or make mistakes - we must always be smiling and accommodating, no matter what life throws at us. And don’t even get me started on the whole aging thing. It’s like once you hit a certain age, society decides you’re no longer worthy of attention or respect. We’re bombarded with anti-aging products and messages telling us that wrinkles and gray hairs are the enemy, that we must fight against the natural process of getting older.
