Embrace impermanence with open mind from "summary" of Wisdom Of Insecurity by Alan W Watts

The notion of impermanence is a central theme in the teachings of many wisdom traditions. It is the recognition that all things in life are transient and subject to change. This may seem like a bleak or discouraging idea at first, but it is actually a source of great freedom and liberation. When we can embrace the impermanent nature of existence with an open mind, we are able to let go of our attachment to things staying the same. This attachment is what often causes us suffering and anxiety, as we try to hold on to things that are inevitably slipping away. Embracing impermanence means accepting that everything in life is in a constant state of flux. This can be seen in the changing seasons, the cycles of birth and death, and the ebb and flow of relationships. When we resist this natural flow of life, we create tension and struggle for ourselves.
