Finding purpose can bring fulfillment from "summary" of Wild (Oprah's Book Club 2.0 Digital Edition) by Cheryl Strayed
As I walked mile after mile on the Pacific Crest Trail, I began to realize that finding purpose was the key to feeling fulfilled. It was not enough to simply exist or go through the motions of life. I needed something to strive for, something to give my days meaning and direction. At first, I wasn't sure what that purpose was. I was lost and broken, trying to escape the pain of my past. But with each step I took on the trail, I started to uncover a sense of clarity and purpose. I realized that my journey was about more than just reaching the end point; it was about discovering who I was and what I was capable of.
As I faced the challenges and obstacles that the trail presented, I found strength I didn't know I had. I learned to push through the pain and keep going, no matter how difficult things became. And in doing so, I found a sense of fulfillment that I had been missing for so long.
Finding purpose wasn't just about setting goals or achieving success; it was about tapping into my true self and embracing the journey. It was about letting go of the past and embracing the present moment, no matter how difficult or painful it might be.
As I hiked through the wilderness, I realized that fulfillment wasn't something that could be handed to me; it was something I had to work for and earn. And in that process of finding purpose and pushing myself to new limits, I discovered a sense of fulfillment that was unlike anything I had ever experienced before.
