Stay grounded despite fame and recognition from "summary" of Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling

It's a weird thing to talk about yourself and your accomplishments. I've been lucky enough to have some success in my career, and with that comes a certain amount of attention. People start to recognize you on the street, ask for autographs, take your picture. It's flattering, of course. It's nice to be recognized for your work. But it's also strange. I think it's important to stay grounded despite all the fame and recognition. It's easy to get caught up in it all, to start believing your own hype. But that's a dangerous path to go down. You can start to lose sight of who you are, of what's really important. You can start to think that you're better than other people, that you deserve special treatment. I don't want to be that kind of person. I want to stay true to myself, to remember where I came from and who helped me along the way. I want to treat people with kindness and respect, no matter how famous or successful I become. I want to stay humble and grateful, to never take anything for granted. It's not always easy. The world can be a strange and sometimes cruel place, especially when you're in the spotlight. People will try to tear you down, to make you feel small. But you can't let them. You have to stay strong, to hold onto your values and your sense of self. You have to remember that fame and recognition are fleeting, that what really matters is how you treat others and how you live your life. So that's what I try to do. I try to stay grounded despite all the attention, to remember that I'm just a person like everyone else. I try to stay true to myself and my beliefs, to never lose sight of what's really important. And I hope that by doing so, I can inspire others to do the same.
