Rationality should guide one's beliefs and actions from "summary" of Why I am an Atheist by Bhagat Singh

The belief in a supernatural power that controls the universe has been deeply ingrained in our society for centuries. People have been taught to have blind faith in gods and goddesses, without questioning the validity of these beliefs. However, I have come to the realization that blind faith is not a virtue, but rather a flaw in human reasoning. Rationality, on the other hand, is the cornerstone of critical thinking and logical reasoning. It is the ability to think independently and make decisions based on evidence and logic, rather than superstition and tradition. Rationality demands that we question everything, including our most deeply-held beliefs, and seek out the truth through reason and evidence. When it comes to beliefs and actions, it is essential that rationality guides our decisions. We should not simply accept what we have been told or what society expects of us, but rather critically analyze the information available to us and make informed choices. This is especially important when it comes to matters of religion, where blind faith can lead to harmful consequences. In my own journey towards atheism, I have found that rationality has been my guiding light. I have questioned the existence of a supernatural power, examined the evidence for and against religion, and come to the conclusion that there is no compelling reason to believe in a god. My beliefs and actions are now guided by reason and evidence, rather than superstition and tradition. It is my firm belief that rationality should be the guiding principle for all individuals, regardless of their beliefs or background. By embracing reason and critical thinking, we can make informed decisions that benefit not only ourselves but society as a whole. Blind faith has no place in a world that demands evidence and logic, and it is only through rationality that we can truly understand the world around us.
