Women should not be limited by societal expectations from "summary" of We Should All Be Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Societal expectations limit women. We are told how to act, what to wear, how to speak. We are confined to a box, expected to fit neatly inside. But why should we conform to these rigid standards? Why should we stifle our voices, suppress our desires, just to please others? Women are constantly policed by society. We are judged for being too assertive, too emotional, too ambitious. We are expected to be meek, to prioritize others above ourselves. But why should we dim our light, shrink ourselves to make others comfortable? Why should we hold back our dreams, our talents, our potential? Society's expectations are outdated, oppressive. They hinder our growth, limit our possibilities. They confine us to a narrow space, denying us the freedom to be fully ourselves. But why should we accept these limitations? Why should we allow society to dictate who we should be, how we should live our lives? Women deserve to break free from societal constraints, to carve out their own paths, to define themselves on their own terms. We should be able to express ourselves authentically, to pursue our passions fearlessly, to assert our worth unapologetically. We should not be confined by society's narrow definitions of who we should be. It is time for women to challenge societal expectations, to push back against the constraints that hold us back. We must resist the pressure to conform, to shrink ourselves to fit into a mold that was not made for us. We must reclaim our agency, our autonomy, our power. We must demand the freedom to be fully ourselves, to live our lives on our own terms.
