Many girls face discrimination and violence in their pursuit of education from "summary" of We Are Displaced by Malala Yousafzai

In some parts of the world, girls face discrimination and violence simply because they want to go to school. Despite their determination to learn and build a better future for themselves, they are met with resistance at every turn. From being denied access to education to being threatened or attacked for pursuing their right to learn, these girls have to fight a daily battle just to attend school. For many of these girls, the obstacles they face in their pursuit of education are not just physical, but deeply ingrained in the societal norms and cultural traditions of their communities. They are told that their place is in the home, not in the classroom, and that their worth lies in their ability to bear children, not in their intellectual capabilities. These harmful beliefs perpetuate a cycle of discrimination and violence that prevents girls from reaching their full potential.
